The United States IJAN chapter has members across the country, from the West Coast to the Midwest to New England. We focus on issues and campaigns that are specific to our context, while remaining in close conversation and consultation with international partners and points of reference. Within the US, we work closely with a variety of organizations and networks within, or in solidarity with, the Palestinian liberation movement, as well as those who are struggling against racism, colonialism, class rule, and state violence more broadly within the US, but who understand the importance of the Palestinian struggle to all of our movements.
Our work falls broadly into five areas: 1) Strategic Defense works to expose the forces and funding behind the backlash against the Palestinian and Palestinian solidarity movements and to find ways of defending our communities while advancing popular struggle; 2) Israel’s Worldwide Role in Repression (IWoRR) works to expose and challenge Israel’s global role in developing and circulating technologies and tactics of repression, from marketing drones to training police forces internationally; 3) the Stop the Jewish National Fund (JNF) campaign works to expose the JNF’s central historic and ongoing role in the colonization of Palestine, to directly challenge it as an institution through a range of tactics, including advancing a legal complaint against its charitable status; 4) Political Education centered on the history, location, and role of Jewish anti-Zionism within the broader Palestinian-led movement to dismantle Zionism and liberate Palestine; and 5) Never Again for Anyone (NAFA) works both to expose Zionism’s cynical exploitation and manipulation of actual histories of Jewish oppression and suffering in order to legitimate its colonization of Palestine, and to reclaim histories of Jewish resistance and participation in struggles for collective liberation.
