"We are not freeing Palestine. Palestine is freeing us."
October 7 marks a turning point in the fight for Palestinian self-determination. It is a day that lies at the heart of the mass movement it incited - for Palestinian liberation, the preservation of all humanity, and the very survival of our planet.
This anniversary reminds us that struggles at the margins are the heartbeat of the fight against the exploitation and destruction of land, resources, and human life, which serves the greed and profit of the 1%.
Grounded in exercising the right to resist, the global movement for Palestine has built into uprisings, strikes, and an amplification of the call for full boycott, divestment and sanctions against "Israel," including a People's Arms Embargo.
Over the past two years, millions of people worldwide have taken action against Israel and in response to repression by fighting back in mass. Dock workers from Morocco to Italy to Greece are uniting to shut down shipments to Israel. Millions in Yemen, Spain, London, and beyond continue to flood the streets to demand an end to the genocide. General strikes have shut down transportation and entire cities across Italy.
Last week, amid Israel's sustained starvation campaign against the people of Gaza, Zionists abducted 497 international humanitarians from international waters, sinking over 600 tons of aid, food, flour, medical supplies, and baby formula to the bottom of the ocean just miles outside of Gaza.
The rising authoritarianism and criminalization against movements with Palestine is a result of the power we are building, with the steadfastness of the Palestinian people as our compass.
As repression escalates worldwide, we must remind ourselves that repression is a dance with mass uprising: if we understand it and confront it, we can find power in resisting it.
We take inspiration from the words of Leila Khalid: "Where there is repression, there is resistance."
Zionism calls for separatism and the exceptionalization of Jewish people; the opposite of the histories of Jewish participation in labor movements, anti-racist and anti-apartheid organizing, and anti-fascist armed resistance, which we claim.
In this spirit, we call all to a reckoning and a decision:
We will not accept complicity in the decimation of Gaza, in the subjugation of Palestinians and all oppressed people, and in the increasingly brazen fascism overcoming our societies.
We must fight for the eradication of Zionism, and for the end of the fascist state of Israel in its entirety.
