The World Social Forum (WSF) in Tunis, Tunisia March 26th - 30th, 2013,is just around the corner and promises to be a critical organizing opportunity for our growing movements. This Social Forum will be the first major international gathering of progressive social forces from around the world since the start of the Tunisian and Egyptian uprisings in January 2011, providing an important opportunity to learn from the many revolutions and popular movements that have emerged.
The forum will serve as the launch of a series of international popular tribunals against Israel entitled: "The Case against Israel: Exposing Israel's role in State Repression and Violence Worldwide" and organized by the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement (MXGM), the United States Palestinian Community Network (USPCN), and the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network (IJAN). Growing out of an assembly hosted at the World Social Forum Free Palestine inPorto Alegre, Brazil, in December of 2012, these tribunals seek to expose the role Israel and the Zionist movement play in repressing progressive social movements and attacking communities throughout the world. Through this process we will support the building of joint struggle initiatives between these social movements to end repression and democratically transform the Israeli apartheid state toward the liberation of Palestine, right of return of its refugees and reprieve from US-allied dominance in the region.
In order to have a successful Tribunal launch at the WSF Tunisia, we need your help. MXGM, IJAN and USPCN are looking for your financial support to help activists from the region as well as several of our members in attending the World Social Forum Tunisia. We are presently seeking $5,000 by Friday, March 25th to cover airfare, accommodations, and printing expenses. To contribute to this joint effort, please donate online or make a check out to WESPAC and mail it to us at:
